Applications:

Gold is usually used in alloys with other metals which are characterized by greater hardness and density, allowing to use gold more economically. Alloys of gold and platinum are used for manufacturing of chemically resistant devices, and alloys of gold with silver and platinum are used for manufacturing electric contacts in critical equipment. Gold and its alloys also are used for plating, manufacturing of jewelry ornaments and dental prosthetics. Radioactive isotope Au198 is used for radiotherapy of tumors.
