The Polar Division of MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter referred to as Polar Division) is located on the Taymyr Peninsula, on the 69th parallel. Contacts with other regions of the country are maintained via the river Yenisey and the North Sea way, as well as via air service.The Polar Division is a multi-industrial enterprise, including: The finished commodity output of the Polar Division includes: cathode copper, cathode nickel, fire and electrolytic cobalt, platinum concentrates, technical silver, selenium technical and specifically clean, tellurium specifically clean, lump sulphur. It is produced at Nickel, Copper, Nadezhda metallurgical plants and in metallurgical shop. Today from Norilsk's region raw material has made about 85 per cent of The Russian nickel and cobalt, about 70 per cent copper and more than 95 per cent platinum group metals (PGM). The polar branch provides the fifth part of world production of nickel and about 40 per cent World production of non-ferrous and precious metals. |
