Corporate Management System Certificates
MMC Norilsk Nickel implemented the Corporate Integrated System of Quality Control and Environmental Management (CISQCEM) in order to manage the quality of its products and environmental aspects of production in compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The system encompasses structural subdivisions of the Head Office in Moscow, Polar Division in Norilsk Industrial Region, and Polar Transport Division in Dudinka. Bureau Veritas, an independent certification body, certified CISQCEM for implementation in “Production, Project Management, Product Sales and Supply (including nickel, copper, cobalt, precious metals, sulphur, selenium and tellurium).” Compliance certificate was accredited by national accreditation agencies of Great Britain (UKAS), the USA (ANAB), and Germany (DAR). For the first time compliance of MMC Norilsk Nickel CISQSEM was certified in 2005 as meeting ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. After the completion of the first certification period (December 2008), a re-certification audit was carried out. Based on its results, Bureau Veritas Certification reconfirmed Norilsk Nickel’s CISQCEM compliance with the requirements of international quality standards. As a result of the first compliance audit carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification on 23-27.11.2009, MMC Norilsk Nickel certification was upgraded to meet ISO 9001:2008 standards. The term of ISO 14001:2004 compliance certificate was extended.
• Kola MMC: - Compliance of the quality management system covering “Production of nickel, copper, cobalt and their compounds, precious metal concentrates and sulphuric acid” with ISO 9001:2000 requirements was certified by Bureau Veritas Certification accredited by UKAS and ANAB. - Compliance of the Environmental Management System covering “Ore mining and production of matte, nickel, copper, cobalt and their compounds, precious metal concentrates and sulphuric acid” with ISO 14001:2004 was certified by Bureau Veritas Certification accredited by UKAS and ANAB. - Compliance of Industrial Safety and Health Protection System covering “Ore mining and production of matte, nickel, copper, cobalt and their compounds, precious metal concentrates and sulphuric acid” with OHSAS 18001:2007 was certified by Bureau Veritas Certification. • The Gipronickel Institute with its Norilsk and Kola Branches uses the quality control system covering “Scientific research, projecting, engineering, survey and environment protection, as well as project management in mining, processing, smelting and in other areas of industrial activities”. Compliance of the quality control system with ISO 9001:2000 was certified by the Swiss SGS agency and Russian VNIIS (GOST R ISO 9001-2001). |
