Personnel characteristics

In 2009, the average staff size of the Norilsk Nickel Group amounted to 83.9 thousand employees, including 3.8 thousand employees of the foreign assets.

The majority of the staff of the Group’s Russian entities (66% of the Company employees in Russia) work in Norilsk and in the Taimyr Municipal District. Seventeen percent of the Group’s Russian staff work in the Kola Peninsula.

The average age of the staff of the Group’s Russian entities¹ is 40 years, with almost one quarter of the staff being over 50 years old. The staff of the entities of Norilsk Nickel International (NNI) is on average much younger, with the share of employees over 50 years old varying from 6% (in Africa) to 16.5% (in Finland).
